An exhibition supporting new work by talented up-and-coming local filmmakers of all ages, levels, and backgrounds complete with post-screening Q&As with the filmmakers and talent.
Celebrate our talented local filmmakers each month during the Philly Film Showcase. PFS turns the Film Center’s Greenfield Theater into a venue for up-and-coming filmmakers of all ages, levels, and backgrounds. Each Showcase is followed by a Q&A with the filmmakers and talent to elicit feedback from the audience.

BUSHWITCHES
JASIA KA | 2023 | USA | 8 MIN
Created and directed by Jasia Ka, BUSHWITCHES is a supernatural dark comedy series that follows a coven of Gen Z witches using magick to take down the patriarchy in Bushwick. In the pilot episode the coven voodoos f*ck boys, ascends to the astral plane, and clashes with rival Tarot card readers.
FLIGHT

A poignant short film that explores the emotional journey of a woman struggling with mental health issues. During a holiday party, she finds herself overwhelmed with anxiety, causing her to relive traumatic childhood memories. We see how her past affects her present and, ultimately, leading to a realization about her own resilience and strength.

The film follows three characters—a shiftless, unemployed young woman, her ponzi-scheming little brother, and their warlock-wannabe neighbor. Each has all but given in to their own neurosis until one afternoon, a speculative dinner party and Leviathan skinny dip brings them together and starts to wash them all away

TRASH follows a young woman on the day she plans to confess her love for her friend–from the whimsical fantasy she weaves in her heart and mind, to the abject disappointment when the reveal does not go as planned, to her final resolve to go for it anyway.
