About

An alternative to the big game where three horror films rule the day! In keeping with Horror Bowl’s thematic tradition (as established by John Carpenter’s Apocalypse Trilogy) this year’s mini-marathon honors three horrors from the year 1981.  Our halftime spectacular includes a collection of film trailers, commercials, and even some Kelly Green.

The Players

My Bloody Valentine

(George Mihalka, United States,  1981, 1h 30m, R, DCP)
A decades-old folk tale about a deranged murderer killing Valentine’s Day celebrants turns out to be true when a group defies the killer’s order and people start turning up dead.

The Prowler

(Joseph Zito, United States, 1983, 1h 29m, R, Blu-ray)
An unknown killer clad in World War II U.S. Army fatigues stalks a small California town, bent on reliving a 35-year-old double murder by targeting a group of college kids holding a  graduation dance

The Burning

(Tony Maylam, United States, 1981, 1h 31m, R, 35mm)
A former summer camp caretaker, horribly burned from a prank gone wrong, lurks around an upstate New York summer camp bent on killing the teenagers responsible for his disfigurement. This film print is courtesy of Exhumed Films and will feature the complete raft scene.
